New Golfers
I prefer starting beginners with putting. In golf, the majority of shots occur within 70 yards of the green. Putting makes up 50% of shots taken, yet many instructors neglect this vital skill. I start with this smaller stroke because it allows me to introduce ideas and concepts on the green, where students experience success fairly quickly. Then it is much easier to move farther out and apply these skills from greater distances until we reach for the driver off the tee. argaiv1048
Intermediate and Advanced Players
For more advanced players, I customize my lessons to meet students' specific needs or areas they'd like to improve. I emphasize an understanding of good technique as well as a more positive mental approach to the game.
Physical Assessment
For all golfers, it's important to know that no two people's bodies are the same. Not everyone can perform the "traditional" motion of the golf swing without causing pain or injury. So before I begin a lesson, I use a two minute, 5-step physical assessment to see what your body is capable of doing. Then I customize the lesson to fit your unique needs.
Club Fitting
Golfers need proper equipment to be successful. Golf clubs are like shoes -- they work better when they fit. I am a certified club fitter and offer this service to students who need it.
